Breads and Papadums Recipes - Gram Flour Roti

Ingredients

  • 450g/1 lb gram flour

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 green chilies, thinly sliced

  • 2.5ml/1/2 tsp pomegranate seeds

  • 15ml/1 tbsp ghee

  • 450ml/3/4 pt warm water

  • ghee for frying


Method:

  1. Mix the flour, onion, chilies, pomegranate seeds and ghee then gradually work in enough water to make a stiff dough.

  2. Knead well until smooth, then divide into 8 portions and roll them into thick rounds. Brush both sides with ghee then fry until lightly browned on both sides.
