Breads and Papadums Recipes - Maize Chapatis

Ingredients

  • 150g/5 oz maize flour

  • 150l/1/4 pt lukewarm water

  • ghee


Method:

  1. Place the flour in a bowl and blend in the water to a smooth dough. Cover and leave for 30 minutes. Divide the dough into 10 equal portions, roll each one into a ball and flatten with your fingers to about 5cm/2 in diameter. Heat a flat frying pan (skillet) over a medium heat and smear with ghee. Place the chapati in the pan and fry until light  golden brown on both sides. Smear with ghee before serving.
