Ingredients

  • 225g/8 oz blended almonds

  • 1.2l/2 pts milk

  • 225g/8 oz sugar

  • 2.5ml/1/2 tsp ground cardamom


Method:

  1. Puree the almonds with 250ml/8 fl oz/1 cup of the milk with the sugar and cardamom over a medium heat for 8-10 minutes until thick, stirring continuously.

  2. Add the almond paste and margarine or oil and cook for 15-20 minute until thick and smooth.

  3. Spread evenly in a greased baking dish and leave to cool. Cut into squares to serve.
