Desserts and Sweets Recipes - Suseum

Ingredients

  • 225g/8 oz sweet potatoes

  • 5ml/1 tsp ground cardamom

  • 100g/4 oz sugar

  • 25g/1 oz desiccated (shredded) coconut

  • salt

  • 60g/2 1/2 oz rice flour

  • pinch of ground turmeric

  • 30ml/2 tbsp water

  • oil for deep-frying


Method:

  1. Boil the potatoes until tender then peel and mash. Mix in the cardamom, sugar, coconut and a pinch of salt and make the paste into small balls.

  2. Mix the flour, turmeric and a pinch of salt then add enough water to make a thick batter.

  3. Dip the balls in the batter and fry in the hot oil until golden. Drain and serve hot.
