Beef & Pork Recipes - Hyderabad Spiced Beef

Ingredients

  • 60ml/4 tbsp ghee

  • 450g/1 lb beef, cubed

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 2.5cm/1 in ginger root, chopped

  • 10 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 3 dried red chilies, coarsely chopped

  • 5ml/1 5sp ground turmeric

  • 3 cinnamon stick

  • 2 cardamom pods

  • 4 cloves


Method:

  1. Heat half the ghee to smoking point then add the meat and stir well. Stir in all the remaining ingredients, cover and simmer over a very low heat for 45 minutes.

  2. Add the remaining ghee and simmer, uncovered, until the meat is reddish-brown. Serve hot with rice and salad.
