Beef & Pork Recipes - Kebab Beef
Curry
Ingredients
Masala:
-
3 dried red chilies
-
6 cloves garlic
-
2.5cm/1 in ginger root
-
5ml/1 tsp ground coriander
-
1.5ml/1/4 tsp cumin seeds
-
30ml/2 tbsp poppy seeds
-
1 cinnamon stick
-
3 cloves
-
2 cardamom pods
-
5ml/1 tsp ground turmeric
-
salt
-
]2 potatoes, quartered
-
15ml/1 tbsp tamarind juice
-
2 hard-boiled eggs, quartered
-
15ml/1 tbsp chopped fresh
coriander
Method:
-
Thread the beef, ginger , earl
onions, chilies and garlic on to kebab skewers.

Heat the ghee and fry the
sliced onion until lightly browned. Add the tomatoes
and cook until soft. grind the masala ingredients to
a fine paste, add to the pan and cook until the ghee
appears on the surface.

Add the kebabs and stir gently
until they are well coated with the sauce. Add salt
to taste and enough water to cook the meat.

Simmer until the meat is almost
tender. Add the potatoes and simmer until tender.
Stir in the tamarind juice, boil for 2 minutes then
remove form the heat.

Garnish with the coriander and
eggs and serve hot with rice and salad.
