Lamb Recipes - Lamb Chops Moghlai

Ingredients

  • 2.5cm/1 in gigner root

  • 3 dried red chilies

  • 2.5ml/1/2 tsp ground turmeric

  • 4 clobes garlic

  • 4 lamb chops

  • 100g/4 oz/1/2 gup ghee

  • 1 potato parboiled and sliced

  • 1 onion, thinly sliced


Method:

  1. Grind the ginger, chilies, turmeric and garlic to a smooth paste, rub over the chops and marinate for 2 hours.

  2. Heat the ghee and fry the chops until thoroughly browned. Drain and set aside. Fry the potatoes until golden.

  3. Return the chops to the pan and continue to fry for a few minutes. Transfer to a warm oven. Fry the onion until crisp and sprinkle over the chops.
