Lamb Recipes -
Marinated Lamb Chops
Ingredients

150ml/1/4 pt 2/3 dup natural
(plain) yoghurt
-
5cm/2 in ginger root, ground
-
5 cloves garlic, crushed
-
2.5ml/1/2 twso ground cumin
-
5ml/1 tsp chili powder
-
salt
-
4 large lamb chops
-
30ml/2 tbsp oil
-
15ml/1 tbsp Worcestershire
sauce
-
75ml/1 1/2 tsp white wine
vinegar
-
20ml/4 tsp sugar
-
45ml/3 tbsp double cream
-
45ml/3 tbsp natural (plain)
yoghurt
Method:
-
Mix the yoghurt with the
ginger, garlic, cumin, chili powder and salt. Rub
well into the chops and leave to marinate overnight.

Heat the oil and fry the
Worcestershire sauce, wine vinegar and sugar for a
few seconds. Add the chops and marinade, stir well,
cover and simmer gently for about 20 minutes.
Arrange the chops in an ovenproof dish.

Mix together the cream and
yoghurt and spread over the chops. Cover the dish
with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180C/350F
for about 45 minutes until the chops are tender and
moist.
