Lamb Recipes - Meatballs in Yoghurt

Ingredients

  • 120ml/4 fl oz/1/2 cup natural (plain) yoghurt

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1cm/1/2 in ginger root, chopped

  • 1 green chili, chopped

  • 5ml/1 tsp ground coriander

  • 5ml/1 tsp ground cumin

  • 30ml/2 tbsp chopped fresh mint

  • 450g/1lb minced lamb

  • 45ml/3 tbsp oil


Method:

  1. Puree the yoghurt, onion, garlic, ginger, chili, coriander, cumin and mint then mix with the meat and divide into 20 meatballs.

  2. Heat the oil and fry the meatballs for about 20 minutes until golden brown and crisp on all sides.

  3. Remove the lid and stir until all the liquid has evaporated. Serve hot with chutney.
