Fried Prawns
Ingredients

450 g/1lb peeled prawns
(shrimp)
-
100 g/4 oz/1 cup
grated(shredded) coconut
-
5 ml/1 tsp chili
powder
-
5 ml/1 tsp ground
turmeric
-
2-3 curry leaves
-
30 ml/2 tbsp ghee
-
1 onion, sliced
Method:
-
Place the prawns, coconut,
chili powder, turmeric and curry leaves in a pan
and just cover with water.
-
Bring to the boil then
simmer gently until the sauce is thick.
Meanwhile,
heat the ghee
and fry the onion until golden brown.
-
Stir into the
prawn mixture and serve hot with rice and
vegetables.
