Recipes - Prawn Patia
Ingredients

150ml/1/4
pt/2/3 cup oil

3 onions, sliced
-
8 green chilies
-
led red chilies
-
2 cloves garlic
-
30ml/2
tbsp chopped fresh coriander
(cilantro)
-
salt
-
2.5ml/1/2
tsp ground coriander (
cilantro)
-
2.5 ml/1/2 tsp cumin seeds
-
10ml/2 tsp ground turmeric
-
150 ml/1/4 pt/2/3 cup water
-
1 small mango,
sliced
-
juice of 1 lemon
-
450 g/1lb peeled
prawns (shrimp)
Method:
-
Heat the oil and fry the onions
until browned. Grind together the chilies, garlic,
coriander and salt and stir into the pan with the
remaining spices and cook for 2 minutes.

Add the water, mango , lemon
juice and prawns and bring to the boil. Simmer
gently, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is
quite dry.

Serve hot with chapattis and
vegetables.
