Seafood Recipes - Prawn Sambol

Ingredients

  • 450 g/1lb peeled prawns (shrimp), chopped

  • 3 green chilies, chopped

  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped.

  • 5 ml/1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 5 ml/1 tsp ground turmeric.

  • salt

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp ghee

  • 2 onions, sliced

  • 225g/8 oz spinach, chopped

  • 300ml/1/2 pt/1 1/4 cups water


Method:

  1. Mix the prawns, chilies, garlic, cumin seeds, turmeric and salt. Heat the ghee and fry the onions until soft. Add the spinach and prawn mixture and fry for 5 minutes.

  2. Add the water, bring to the boil and simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce is thick and the ingredients are well combined, Serve hot with plain rice.
