Recipes - Spiced Fried Plaice
Ingredients
Marinade:

juice of 1 1/2 limes
-
grated rind of 1 lime
-
pinch of ground turmeric

ml/3 tbsp chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)

15ml/1 tbsp chopped fresh mint

cloves garlic, chopped
-
2.5cm/1/2 tsp salt

2.5 ml/1/2
tsp black pepper

2 green chilies, seeded and
chopped

450g/1 lb plaice fillets
-
1
egg, beaten
-
30ml/2 tbsp water
-
100 g/4
oz/l cup breadcrumbs

oil for deep-frying
Method:
-
Mix together the marinade
ingredients. Make cut son each side of the fish and
rub in the marinade. Leave to marinate for a least
30 minutes.
-
Beat together the egg and
water. Dip the fish in the egg then in the
breadcrumbs.
-
Heat the oil and fry the fish
until golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper and serve
immediately.
