Seafood Recipes - Spinach Chorchori with Prawns

Ingredients

  • 45 ml/3 tbsp mustard oil

  • 450 g/1lb peeled prawns (shrimp)

  • 450 g/1lb spinach, chopped

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp mustard seeds

  • 5 dried red chilies

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp oil

  • 5 ml/1 tsp ground turmeric

  • salt


Method:

  1. Heat the mustard oil1 and fry the prawns quickly until browned. Remove from the pan. Reheat the oil and fry the spinach for 2 minutes. Remove from the pan and discard the oil.

  2. Grind the mustard seeds and chilies to a paste. Heat the oil until smoking the fry the spinach for 1 minute. Add the ground paste and turmeric and fry for 2 minutes.

  3. Add the prawns and salt and cook for 5 minutes. Serve hot with rice and chapattis.
