Tandoori Prawns
Ingredients

900g/2 lb prawns (shrimp),
peeled
-
juice of 1 lemon
-
salt
-
2 cloves garlic, grated
-
2.5 cm/1 in ginger root, grated
-
pinch of pepper
-
5 ml/1 tsp paprika
-
5 ml/1 tsp garam masala
-
5ml/2
tsp ground roasted cumin
-
5 ml/1 tsp ground coriander
(cilantro)
-
5ml/1 tsp ground turmeric
-
45 ml/3 tbsp natural (plain)
yoghurt
-
75ml/5 tbsp oil
Method:
-
Sprink1e the prawns
with the lemon and salt. Puree all the
remaining ingredients except 60 ml/4
tbsp of the oil. Mix with the prawns,
cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Heat the remaining oil
and fry the prawns and marinade for about 5
minutes until the oil appears on the surface
and the sauce is thick. Serve hot with mint
chutney.
