Dosai Chili Powder
Ingredients

10 ml/2 tsp oil
-
50 g/2 oz/ 1
cup dried red chilies
-
75 g/3 oz/1/2 cup split black
beans
-
75 g/3 oz/1/2 cup yellow split peas
-
25 g/1 oz/1/4 cup sesame seeds
-
5 ml/1 tsp asafoetida
-
30 ml/2 tbsp ground jaggery
-
2.5 cm/1 in piece of tamarind
-
salt
Method:
-
Heat the oil and fry the
chilies unto lightly
browned.
-
Dry roast the split beans, split
peas, sesame seeds and
asafoetida unto lightly colored.
Grind all the ingredients to a fine
powder, adding salt to taste.
