Indian Food Recipes - Indian Fresh Coconut Milk, Quick Coconut Milk Recipe
Ingredients
1 coconut
250ml/8 fl oz/1 cup hot water
Method:
Remove the white fresh from the coconut and grate it. Place it in a muslin (cheesecloth) bag and squeeze as much milk as possible.
Soak the coconut in the bag in the water for about 30 minutes. Squeeze out the milk into a bowl until all the milk has been extracted.
100 g/4 oz/1 cup desiccated (shredded) coconut
300 ml/1/2 pt/10 cups lukewarm water
Blend the coconut and 250 ml/8 fl oz/1 cup of water to a smooth paste in a blender or food processor.
Put the paste in a muslin bag and squeeze out as much coconut milk as possible.
Place the remaining water in a bowl and knead the coconut bag in the water to squeeze out any remaining milk.
