Seasoning Mixture and Basic Recipes - Mysore Rasam Powder

Ingredients

  • 100 g/4 oz coriander (cilantro) seeds

  • 25 g/1 oz/1/4 cup black peppercorns

  • 25 g/1 oz/1/4 cup cumin seeds

  • 20 ml/4 tsp fenugreek seeds

  • 1 bunch fresh curry leaves

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp oil

  • 3 dried red chiies

  • 10ml/2 tsp ground turmeric


Method:

  1. Dry roast the coriander seeds, peppercorns, cumin, fenugreek and curry leaves unto lightly browned, then set aside.  

  2. Heat the oil and fry the chilies. Grind all the ingredients together until fine. Store in an air­ tight container.
