Chutneys, Pickles and Relishes Recipes - Lentil Chutney

Ingredients

  • 30ml/2 tbsp ghee

  • 50g/2 oz red lentils

  • 3 dried red chilies

  • 2.5ml/1/2 tsp asafoetida

  • 60ml/4 tbsp grated (shredded) coconut

  • salt


Method:

  1. Heat the oil and fry the lentils, chilies and asafoetida for 5 minutes. Add the coconut and salt to taste. Grind everything to a fine paste.
