Onion Chutney
Ingredients

30ml/2 tbsp oil
-
2 dried red chilies
-
3 green chilies
-
10ml/2 tsp black mustard seeds
-
20ml/4 tsp split black beans
-
2.5ml/1/2 tsp asafoetida
-
3 onions, finely chopped
-
1 small bunch fresh coriander
(cilantro)
-
5ml/1 tsp tamarind concentrate
-
salt
Method:
-
Heat 15ml/1 tbsp of oil and fry
the chilies, mustard seeds, split beans and
asafoetida until the seeds start crackling.
-
Heat the
remaining oil and fry the onions until golden. Grind
all the ingredients to a fine paste. Serve with any
main courses.
