Chutneys, Pickles and Relishes Recipes - Peach and Apple Murabha

Ingredients

  • 150g/5 oz peaches, peeled, quartered and stoned

  • 150g/5 oz Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored and quartered

  • 150g/5 oz sugar

  • 100ml/3 1/2 fl oz water

  • 2.5ml/1/2 tsp ground cardamom

  • 5ml/1 tsp citric acid


Method:

  1. Prick the peaches and apples all over with a fork. Bring the sugar and water to the boil and stir until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. Add the fruit, bring to the boil then simmer gently for 10 minutes. Stir in the cardamom and citric acid and remove from the heat. Leave to cool then pour into an airtight jar.
