Chutneys, Pickles and Relishes Recipes - Tamarind Sauce

Ingredients

  • 25g/1 oz tamarind pulp

  • 150ml/1/4 pt warm water

  • salt

  • 5ml/1 tsp chili powder


Method:

  1. Soak the tamarind in the water for 15 minutes. Rub it in the water and blend the two together.

  2. Rub through a sieve and discard the husk. Stir in the salt and chili powder. Chill before serving.
