Drinks Recipes - Ginger Cordial

Ingredients

  • 25g/1 oz ginger root, bruised

  • 225g/8 oz granulated sugar

  • 5ml/1 tsp tartaric acid

  • 1/2 lemon, sliced

  • 2.4l/4 pts boiling water


Method:

  1. Put the ginger, sugar, tartaric acid and lemon in a bowl and cover with boiling water.

  2. Stir well until the sugar has dissolved then cover and leave to stand for 3-4 days. Strain through muslin (cheesecloth) into bottles and seal.

  3. Leave for 2 days before drinking. Store in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
