Dals Recipes - Lentil Kebabs Recipe

Ingredients

  • 450g/1 lb/1/2 cups green lentils, soaked overnight

  • 15ml/1 tbsp ghee

  • 1 onion, sliced

  • 50g/2 oz/1/2 cup gram flour

  • 10ml/2 tsp garam masala

  • 4 eggs, beaten

  • 15ml/1 tbsp natural (plain) yoghurt

  • 2 green chilies, chopped

  • salt

  • 50g/2 oz/1/2 cup breadcrumbs

  • ghee for frying


Method:

  1. Drain the lentils then grind to a fine paste. Heat the ghee and fry the onion until crisp and brown then drain and grind coarsely. Fry the gram flour and garam masala for 1 minutes then stir into the lentils with the eggs, yoghurt, chilies, salt and fried onions.

  2. Shape the mixture into lat cutlets, roll in breadcrumbs and fry in hot ghee until evenly brown.
