Raitas Recipes - Spinach Raita

Ingredients

  • 225g/8 oz fresh spinach, trimmed and finely chopped

  • 450ml/3/4 pt natural (plain) yoghurt

  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced

  • 5ml/1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1.5ml/1/4 tsp ground red chili

  • pinch of black pepper

  • salt


Method:

  1. Steam the spinach in a pan without water for about 5 minutes until soft. Strain.

  2. Mix together the remaining ingredients, stir in the spinach then chill until ready to serve. Serve with chicken curry and rice.
