Snacks Recipes - Bread Chops

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread

  • 2 large potatoes, boiled and mashed

  • 5ml/1 tsp chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)

  • 1 green chili, chopped

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2.5ml/1/2 tsp salt

  • ghee for deep-frying


Method:

  1. Soak the bread in water foe a few minutes then squeeze out the water. Mash the bread with the potatoes, coriander, chili, onion and salt. Divide into 8 portions and shape into short, fat discs with greased hands.

  2. Heat 15ml/1 tbsp of ghee at a time and fry the discs in batches until lightly browned on both sides. Serve hot with chutney.
