Snacks Recipes - Savoury Discs

Ingredients

  • 150g/5 oz ghee

  • 450g/1 lb plain (all-purpose) flour

  • 10ml/2 tsp cumin seeds

  • salt

  • 150ml/1/4 pt water

  • 5ml/1 tsp black pepper

  • ghee for deep-frying


Method:

  1. Rub the ghee into the flour, cumin and salt then add enough water to make a stiff dough. Divide into 24 portions, sprinkle with pepper and roll out to a flat round disc.

  2. Heat the ghee to smoking point then deep-fry until golden. Drain on kitchen paper and serve hot or cold.
