Mix together all the
ingredients, adding just enough water to make a
batter of thick dropping consistency. Heat a
heavy-based pan and smear with a little oil.
Pour a
ladleful of batter into the pan and spread as thinly
as possible. Make a hole in the centre and
pour in a teaspoon of oil.
Cook until golden brown
on the underside then turn over and fry until golden
and crisp. Drain on kitchen paper and serve hot with
chutney.
