Ingredients
Method:
-
Soak the split beans in the
water for 2 hours. Add the chilies, asafoetida and
salt and grind to a smooth dough, adding a very
little water. Mix in the coriander.

Take a ladleful
of dough on the palm of your left hand and flatten
it with your right hand.
-
Make a hole in the centre,
slip the dough into hot oil and fry until browned
and crisp. Drain on kitchen paper and serve hot with
chutney.
