Fruit Salad
Ingredients

1 melon
-
1 large boiled potato, narrow
at the top
-
2 cloves
-
4 black peppercorns
-
2 strips marrow (squash) skin
-
4 peaches
-
1 mango, dices
-
4 plums, thickly
-
250g/9 oz seedless grapes
Method:
-
Cut the melon in half and then
cut the second half so that you have one piece
larger than the other in a boat shape then scoop out
the seeds.
-
Place the 'boat' in the centre of a large
serving platter. Cut off the bottom of the potato so
that it will stand up then make it into a person by
using the cloves for eyes, a shape from a piece of
plum for a mouth, peppercorn buttons and a scarf
from a piece of plum.

Put the girl in the middle of
the boat. Make the strips of marrow skin into the
shape of oars and fix them to the boat with cocktail
sticks (toothpicks). Quarter and stone the peaches
then arrange all the fruit attractively around the
boat. Serve as a dessert or aperitif.
